If you happen to be searching for that great adventure idea, then look no further beyond these next two videos. George Steinmetz is a regular contributor to National Geographic and a renowned explorer and science photographer. His mission: to uncover secrets such as remote deserts and obscure cultures, and document them using new developments in technology.
In 2008, Steinmetz published a book titled African Air, which is a stunning portfolio of photographs he took by flying in a motorized paraglider high above fourteen countries throughout the continent.
Long after he took his first flight, Steinmetz continues to explore the earth from the air. Last year, he joined National Geographic Live to share what it’s like to photograph from a paraglider and how he carries along a little music and a positive attitude to help sustain him on his journeys.
