Celebrating the Academy Awards: Hollywood’s War-Torn History

In honor of the Academy Awards, we present a FORA.tv series: Moguls, Millionaires & Movie Stars: Hollywood Between the Wars, 1920-1940, a conference produced by The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, in partnership with the Huntington-USC Institute on California and the West.

These were the decades of Joseph P. Kennedy, William Randolph Hearst, and Howard Hughes–as well as Fatty Arbuckle. They were a time when “hot babes,” good weather, and blooming roses were all that was needed to lure talent and money to the fledgling industry. Enjoy the show!
