Saturday Night Live Skewers MSNBC, Chris Matthews, Debate Coverage

No one could escape the aftermath of last Wednesday’s debate between President Obama and Mitt Romney, as the media bombarded the airwaves with hyperbole and rhetoric as to how and why a gaffe-prone Republican nominee could come out on top against an incumbent president who appeared to be off his game.

In choosing an juicy target to mock, Saturday Night Live chose MSNBC and parodied The Rachel Maddow Show along with “guests” Al Sharpton, S.C. Cupp, and boisterous political commentator Chris Matthews. Check out the slightly-profane hilarity below.

For a slightly more serious (and real) Chris Matthews, watch the following clip from the Aspen Ideas Festival in 2011, where he discusses the difference between Democrats and Republicans and how those separate characteristics influence who ends up running on the party ticket for president.
