The Discovery Channel’s widely popular science entertainment television series Mythbusters returns tonight and takes on an interesting challenge in collaboration with Titanic director James Cameron. At the end of the movie, Rose (Kate Winslet) is saved by laying atop a plank from the ship’s wreckage, leaving Jack (Leonardo DiCaprio) to perish in the icy waters of the North Atlantic.
After the release of Titanic 3D this year, an Internet campaign quickly launched and asked a question that viewers in 1997, perhaps for the sake of preserving the tragic drama that unfolded, chose to avoid: surely there was enough room for both Rose and Jack?
Mythbusters aims to prove there wasn’t, as the following preview clip demonstrates.
