Weekend Inspiration: Caine’s Arcade and DIY Crafting

Earlier this year, the ingenuity and imagination behind Caine’s Arcade, the story of a boy and his homemade entertainment center, went viral and brought 9-year old Los Angeles resident Caine Monroy a legion of fans and Facebook followers, and enough money for a full-ride to any school he wishes to attend.

Yesterday, filmmaker Nirvan Mullick followed up with a sequel to his hit video titled, “Caine’s Arcade 2: The Global Cardboard Challenge & Imagination Foundation.” Check it out below.

If those videos don’t provide enough reason to get out and get crafty this weekend, watch the following video from Maker Faire 2011, in which David Giancaspro talks about projects and geek parenting. (Note: of course, you don’t have to be a parent to create some cool DIY crafts.)
