Whether you’re seeing the island for the first time or are a seasoned New Yorker, the Manhattan skyline has an awe-inspiring effect on most people. Through both trimuph and tragedy, Manhattan’s skyline has evolved–and will continue to evolve–which is why the following work by London-based artist and illustrator Patrick Vale is so fascinating. Using good old pencil, ink and paper, Vale creates a stunning representation of Manhattan and recorded the entire process.
