The New Shared Economies: How Collaboration Pays in the Social Space

Yesterday we reported on how technology has given birth to a global mind; one in which ideas and concepts flow freely across oceans and borders and how collaborative, collective intelligence could be the future of global society. After all, two (or three or more) heads are better than one.

Liz Gannes, senior editor of All Things Digital, spoke with several Bay Area entrepreneurs at the Commonwealth Club on a similar type of collaborative thought that has emerged through the evolution of technology: the new “share” economy. Taskrabbit founder and CEO Leah Busque and Airbnb co-founder and CTO Nathan Blecharczyk explained how their highly successful business models have allowed individuals and entrepreneurs enjoy collective success as well as foster a free flow of ideas and connections between people.
