Convicted sexual predator and former Penn State football coach Jerry Sandusky is behind bars, but more tragic findings emerged today from an internal investigation led by former FBI director Louis Freeh. In the report, Freeh explained that the highest officials at the university, including former coach Joe Paterno, hid critical facts that led to continued abuses by Sandusky over the course of 10 years. For some, including a few guests at last week’s Aspen Ideas Festival, the emergence of the scandal should have been the death knell for the school’s football program.
