12 Die in Colorado Massacre; Remember Columbine?

At a midnight showing of the latest Batman movie in a Denver suburb, a man open fired in a theater, killing 12 people and wounding 59 others, according to an article in the New York Times. The suspect, James Holmes, 24, had no criminal record and, in 2010, even graduated with honors from the University of California, Riverside, with a degree in neuroscience.

As Colorado and the country try to make sense of one more mass shooting, we turn to another Colorado massacre, Columbine, which took place just 15 miles from the latest shooting in Denver.

On FORA.tv back in 2008, author Wally Lamb talked about his third novel, The Hour I First Believed, which delved into the Columbine High School shooting. Lamb talks about meeting the father of one of the shooters, a man who was trying to make sense of the tragedy.  ”We just held each other,” Lamb said.

They should string him up and let him die slowly whilst the names of those he killed are read out.
