Nora Ephron, who was the creative genius behind such hit romantic comedies as Sleepless in Seattle and When Harry Met Sally, has died at the age of 71.
She was, according to the New York Times obit, “a journalist, a blogger, an essayist, a novelist, a playwright, an Oscar-nominated screenwriter and a movie director — a rarity in a film industry whose directorial ranks were and continue to be dominated by men.”
Way back in 2006 she appeared on FORA.tv in an Aspen Ideas Festival program on “Television, Cinema, and American Values.” Her wit and insight are on full display. Jump to 7:25.
