On January 18, The Stanley Foundation will host a forum on the “responsibility to protect,” or R2P– a United Nations led initiative that outlines sovereignty as a responsibility, not a privilege. Under the initiative, countries must protect their people from crimes against humanity or risk facing international intervention.
