Next Week: Innovations in Green Business, Social Media, Social Entrepreneurship

Next week in the world of conferences look for riveting programs on technology, media and business.

L2 founder Scott Galloway

On November 10 FORA.tv presents the third-annual L2 Innovation Forum in New York City hosted by L2, a think tank for digital innovation. The forum, sponsored in part by the NYU Stern School of Business, will touch on how brands can take advantage of the current innovations in design, data mining and game theory. Speakers include several thought leaders, including CEOs, social media gurus and academics.

Many people are starting to feel a crunch in social services as public funding shrinks due to “austerity measures” in the form of budget cuts. On November 10, leaders in local and state government and nonprofit organizations will convene in Arlington, Virginia, for the Accelerating Social Entrepreneurship conference hosted by George Mason University. Speakers, such as former Virginia Governor Mark Warner, will discuss how innovative thinking can help solve problems created by the current economic crisis.

E-commerce businesses live by search and social media—and die by it.   From November 7 to 10 in Las Vegas, the premier search and social media expo PubCon will explore current trends and new ideas in search and social media technology. Media giants such as CNN, The Wall Street Journal and Disney all of which rely on online advertising in some capacity will share their insights for anyone seeking to improve their current marketing strategies.

The Opportunity Green Business Conference in Los Angeles on November 10 and 11 will touch on the myriad ways companies are implementing sustainable business practices. Actors Adrian Greiner and Don Cheadle as well as executive leadership from IBM, Nike, and Starbucks will speak on how business enterprises can promote sustainability and maintain profitability.
