Passing over 3.5 million video streams per month, FORA.tv has been working hard to provide more engaging video content to a fast-growing audience. Recent syndication and distribution deals with partners like TiVo, Blip.tv, Hulu, Boxee, Dailymotion, and 5min, have helped users around world access high profile events like The New Yorker Festival, WIRED Conference, and the entire Fall season of LIVE from the New York Public Library.
“We’ve recently introduced two paid offerings,” says Zerega. The first is called Premium Events, a “pay-per-view access to the lives stream and/or on-demand viewing of a conference or a live public event.” While a top-level event can cost thousands of dollars to attend, FORA.tv offers the online viewing experience at a much lower price. The second offering is a membership model called FORA.tv Plus(+). If you join FORA.tv as a member you get “all carrot, and no stick” with no advertisements, high quality viewing, downloads of the video program, and discounts to select premium events.
Zerega briefly mentioned plans to unveil a new platform called “Partner Generated Content (PGC)” that will make it easier for “great universities, conferences, and untapped sources of smart video” to get visibility on FORA.tv. The idea is to automate the process for hundreds of valuable sources to distribute their content on FORA.tv’s network.
Much of FORA.tv’s success it attributed to efforts to engage in consistent dialog with our users on social media networks like Twitter, Facebook, and YouTube. We appreciate your support and feedback, so please let us know how we can further improve your video viewing experience!
